UK Mission to the EU

The UK Mission to the European Union kindly hosted our launch event as part of their Diversity & Inclusion bar night. We were incredibly happy to see so many of you turn up, connect with each other and make sure we have a space to socialise and network.
We had special guests highlighting their work on anti-racism and better representation in public institutions and the European advocacy organisations in Brussels. Member of the European Parliament and Greens/EFA member Mélissa Camara gave us a behind-the-scenes look into what is happening in the Parliament as political forces are leaning to the far-right since the last elections, both in France and across key Member States. Sarah Chandler, from the Equinox Initiative for Racial Justice, shared with us her journey into Brussels and how civil society is organising to continue campaignining despite the growing offensive.
A big thanks to all the participants and to the UK Mission to the EU volunteer staff for supporting our launch. Your openness and enthusiasm helped shaped the network’s first steps in Brussels.
