What is EMPOWER-EU?

EMPOWER-EU is the first pan-European minority network for professionals working in politics and policies.

Who can join EMPOWER-EU?

Membership is open to professionals, as well as aspiring graduates with an interest in the field who:

  • Identify as ethnic or racialised minorities or belong to underrepresented demographics in the field.
  • Support the values of equality, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Agree to the Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct (sent after membership request).
  • Submit a completed membership form and actively engage in network activities.

How do I become a member?

To join, complete the membership form and agree to the Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct after careful reading. Applications are reviewed by the Executive Committee, and successful applicants will be notified by email.

Why was EMPOWER-EU created?

EMPOWER-EU was founded to address the systemic underrepresentation of minorities in the EU affairs job market. It aims to offer a supportive space for networking, knowledge-sharing, career development, and driving institutional change in European and international policy circles.

  • Can I volunteer or take on a leadership role?

Can I volunteer for the network?

Yes. All members can apply to support specific activities. To apply, you must sign a Volunteer Agreement. Members can also propose and lead small activities (with up to 10 participants) subject to Executive Committee approval.
